There’s a story in the Bible that talks about value. A man finds a pearl that was worth a great deal. it was so valuable to him that we went and sold everything he had to get the land and the pearl. it was extremely valuable.
we value so little today. and the things we do value have no eternal beauty, or appreciation. here, we value certain things and we do everything we can to keep them close and enjoy them, we treasure them.
we value the gospel. Jesus saved us, set us free from sin, transferred us from darkness to light and redeemed us, forgave us. we treasure Jesus. we talk to him, about him, think about him, read his word, sing to him. we enjoy him. he is with us. present on our rides, our events, both local and national. he is here. Jesus matters. we trust him.
it is because we follow him closely and listen to his guidance, put ourselves;ves in harms way at times, that we don’t take being a disciple lightly. so when someone tells us they want in, and then tells us they bring Jesus with him, well, think again chachie. what sets us apart is the value we place in Jesus.
we value family. With out our love for Jesus, we don’t love family properly. we’re interested in shortcuts. we put the work in with our families so we can put the work in with the club. you treat your wife with disrespect, treat your kids like property, we’d just as soon you move along. that’s not something we do.
brotherhood. it cannot be overstated how much we value our brotherhood. it is assumed, built upon and demanded. it is both earned and completed given. to know that there are men who will dive off into the dark waters to protect us, walk into a room to rescue, fight their way into any situation as prayer warriors is an understanding like nothing else. when the darkness falls, my brother will be the light. when I fall, my brother will help me up. when my brother is in need, I will give. when he is alone, I will accompany him. when my brother is in sin, we will close ranks around him. light shines in the darkest of nights, and it often comes through a brother.
we all have things we bring to the table. but these things are already here. you can’t make it any better by saying you can. you leave your mark with sacrifice and loyalty, mercy and toughness. you develop a warrior spirit on your face before holy god long before you stand next to your brother to fight.
if you’re not into these things, if you don’t value these things, please, move along. don’t waste our time or yours. however, if you are truly being led but the Holy Spirit, then we will know that as well.
